Welcome to Organized With Kids! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by. I’m a faith-filled wife, homeschool mom and former early childhood educator, and this little corner of the internet is where I share simple, tried and true ways to make room for what matters most in your heart and home.
I’ve loved organizing since I was a young girl. I would tidy, organize and redecorate my room just for the fun of it!
Then I became a mom… and I quickly learned that children bring a whole new level of stuff and chaos into a home! Even though I felt like a pretty organized person, I had new demands on my time, and keeping our home in order felt harder than ever.
In January 2013, I chose “simplify” as my word for the year. I started decluttering the busiest spaces in our home and letting go of the things that no longer served us. The more I simplified the space around me, the more I freed my mind and heart from clutter too. Living with less made room in our home and our schedule for the things that mattered most to us as a family.
In February 2016, in a step of faith, I started this blog to share that journey with other overwhelmed moms.
After 13 years as an early childhood educator, I stepped out of the classroom in 2018. Today my classroom is our home! I homeschool four kids at four very different stages, from a high schooler all the way down to an early reader. Some days run like clockwork and some days are a beautiful mess… and I’m learning to leave room for grace in both!
My faith is at the centre of it all. Jesus is the One I go to when the days feel full and my cup feels empty. One of the verses I hold onto most is this one:
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.'” Matthew 11:28 (NLT)
These days you’ll also find me over at Confidently Schooled, where I share our homeschool life and help other families who are homeschooling. Come say hi!
No perfect homes here, mama! Just real families, lots of grace and simple steps you can take today.
