You do not need a summer schedule. You need thr You do not need a summer schedule.

You need three anchors.

Pick one read-aloud. One hands-on project. One outdoor habit. That is it.

A read-aloud keeps language, imagination, and connection alive all summer long. It does not matter if you read for twenty minutes or an hour. It matters that you do it consistently. Let your kids have input on the book. Ownership increases investment.

A hands-on project gives children something to build, create, or tend. A garden. A craft. A recipe they make from start to finish. A woodworking project. It does not need to be educational in the traditional sense. Hands-on work builds patience, problem-solving, and quiet confidence.

An outdoor habit is perhaps the simplest of the three. A morning walk. An evening bike ride. Time at the park without a plan. Research consistently shows that time outdoors reduces stress, improves attention, and supports overall wellbeing in children and adults alike. It costs nothing and returns everything.

Three rhythms. Loosely held. Repeated often.

That is a summer worth having!

What anchors will you include in your summer?

I spent years being too busy for this. Never again I spent years being too busy for this. Never again.

Are you feeling worried about your kids driving yo Are you feeling worried about your kids driving you crazy this summer? 🫢

Try these 3 simple rhythms that will give you just enough structure but still make room for spontanaeity!👇

1. Read Aloud daily: connect and create a shared family experience this summer. Audible books count!🎧Head to @readaloudrevival for some great book recommendations!

2. Hands-on Activity: think gardening, painting, wood working. You will encourage patience, creativity, problem solving and perseverance in your kids.

3. Outdoor Habit: a daily morning or evening walk or bike ride, learn a new sport or fly a kite! Whatever you choose, getting outside reduces stress, gets your kids off of devices and improves everyone’s sense of well being.

👉I go into more detail in my June Confidently Schooled Letter. You’ll find the🔗in my bio.

I’d love to hear from you! Share some of your ideas for summer rhythms!
