Welcome to “Organized With Kids!” My name is Sarah and I’m glad you’ve stopped by!
I am a faith-filled wife and mom, compassionate organization coach, blogger and advocate for simplified living.
I’ve had a love for organization since I was a young girl. I would tidy, organize and redecorate my room regularly because I loved creating a space that was a reflection of me; where everything had its place and the items that brought me joy were thoughtfully placed.
Creating beautiful, simplified spaces is a passion of mine that has grown over the years.
When I became a mom, I experienced first hand how much stuff and chaos children bring into our home! Even though I felt like a pretty organized person before, I quickly learned that children tend to bring a new set of challenges to staying organized.
I had new demands on my time which made it more difficult to stay on top of keeping an organized home.
In January 2013, I chose to make the word, “simplify” my motto for the year. I began to declutter the well used spaces in our home and unapologetically release the things that no longer served us. The more I simplified the physical space around me, the more I freed my mind and heart from clutter as well.
I was on a mission to embrace simplified living and in the process was creating a peaceful, joy filled life for my family.
I had a deep desire to release things and to bring more peace and order into our home. Living with less clutter created more room in my home and schedule for the things and experiences that mattered most to us as a family.
I learned that I can run a home that embraces the natural chaos children bring, but with rhythms and routines that are rooted in love and grace.
As we prepared to welcome our second daughter to the world, I started to dream and create vision for how I wanted our home to look and feel. I designed the rooms in our builder-basic home to reflect who we were as a family. I came up with the ideas and thankfully my handy hubby was able to make my dreams a reality!
I am drawn to classic, natural elements and functional design that refreshes and transforms not only our homes but our hearts as well.
In February 2016, in a step of faith, I decided to start a blog to share my journey toward simplified living with other overwhelmed moms. I wanted to encourage and equip mama’s everywhere to embrace the “LESS IS MORE” mentality and inspire them with simple tips to creating beautiful simplified spaces.
Every post I write directs you to a more simplified, organized and refreshed home & life.
In June 2018, after spending 13 years as an early childhood educator, I stepped away from teaching in a classroom to follow the calling inside of me: it was time to make this organization hobby into a business! It didn’t take long before I began working with clients to simplify, organize, refresh and transform their homes and lives through coaching sessions, workshops and speaking engagements.
I love teaching mama’s to embrace the foundational principles to simplified living within an encouraging, compassionate coaching relationship.
With every transformed space and decluttered mind, my mission to encourage more mama’s to embrace simplified living grows.
I hope you’ll join the OWK community on Instagram & Facebook and by signing up for the email list, so you never miss a new blog post! I’d love for you to follow along as I aim to inspire organized living in your everyday chaos with kids!
