I’ve decided to stop playing it safe. For a long t I’ve decided to stop playing it safe.
For a long time, I softened how well things are going in our homeschool so no one would feel bad. I’m done with that.

I want to show up for you:
The mom on the fence about homeschooling.
The mom who wakes up at 3am wondering if she has what it takes.
The mom who feels called, but is letting the naysayers talk her out of it.

Seven years ago, I answered a relentless calling on my heart to homeschool my girls. God’s faithfulness has been so evident that I can’t keep it to myself any longer.

I have a vision of women answering that call with confidence and conviction, raising their children in loving, Godly homes. The best news is that you do not need to be fearless, you just need to be faithful.

Consider this your invitation to my table. I’m pouring you a cup of coffee or tea, and we’ll talk through the questions, look at the evidence, and take it one step at a time.

With 🇨🇦 Thanksgiving this weekend, the kids and I With 🇨🇦 Thanksgiving this weekend, the kids and I spent the afternoon at my sister’s place @kimlansdellart , baking for our family celebration.

I am not much of a baker. Kim is. She inherited our Oma’s gift for it, and I love that my kids get to learn from their auntie.

Today they helped make Kim’s “Better Than Grandma’s Apple Crisp.”

📸 Screenshot the recipe at the end of the reel. It includes Kim’s secret twist that takes it to the next level.

One of the gifts of homeschooling is the freedom to invite others in. I don’t have to be everything for my kids. Family, friends, and people in our community fill in the gaps with their own talents, and our kids are richer for it.

Who helps give your kids experiences beyond what you can offer? A grandparent, a neighbour, a program you love? Share in the comments. 🍂

While Claire is at camp this week, Ava, Jason and I are soaking up intentional time together. Thrifting, bowling, a bookshop visit, and stand up paddling are all on our list for the week.

What are some of your favourite summer family memories?

Ps) if you live in the #yeg area, DM Laura to set up a honey berry picking time! She still has a few spaces left. 🫐
