I’ve been trying to think of the perfect way to say “Hello!” in this very first post, and to be honest, “Hello, world!” is all that is coming to mind, so I’m going to go with it!  I may only be speaking to myself, maybe some kind family members and friends as well, but the bottom line is that I’ve had this urge to start blogging for quite some time (almost embarrassed to admit just how long) and for some reason or another today is the day that I thought, why not?  Today is better than any other!  So, if you are reading this, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to stop by and I hope that there will be many opportunities for us to connect and inspire one another in the coming months!

Why “Organized with Kids?”  I’m a wife, mom and kindergarten teacher and can understand how those three words can bring much joy, fun and adventure into my life but also a whole lot of chaos, clutter and stuff!   Being able to create a space in both my home and classroom that is organized, functional and inviting can allow more opportunity to enjoy the little things, to really be in the moment and to feel like crawling into the fetal position in the corner of the room a whole lot less!  When I am trying to function and live or work in a place that is crowded, cluttered and sticky I find myself wishing I was anywhere but there!

In June 2012, Jason, Ava and I moved from our first home, a cute 900 square foot bungalow in a central location of the city, out to the suburbs into a fun little lake community and a much bigger home!  Although we missed the big trees and character that our old neighbourhood offered, we were excited about all of the space and potential of our brand new build.

Since then, we welcomed our second daughter, Claire, into the world and began the process of transforming our builder grade home into the home of our dreams.

I think that Jason and I are a great team – I like to dream and come up with the ideas and inspiration for our projects and Jason is my personal handy man who has the know how to get it done!

So, here’s to new adventures and stepping out of my comfort zone as I make this dream a reality!
