World Waterpark Swim Club Offers World Class Swimming Lessons, in a World Class Facility

At the beginning of the new school year, when deciding which activities our kids would take part in, our number 1 priority was to enrol our girls in swimming lessons. We live in a lake community in the city, so it is essential that the girls develop water safety skills at a young age.
In September, we learned about World Waterpark Swim Club at West Edmonton Mall and enrolled our girls in the Fall 2019 session. Claire was in the preschool program and Ava swam in the beginner level swimmer program.
In today’s post, I’m sharing our Swim Club experience over the past 10 weeks and the top 4 reasons why I highly recommend the swimming lessons at West Edmonton Mall’s World Waterpark.
1. Small Class Sizes
I was so impressed with the small class sizes of 5 or less children per class. This allowed the instructors to give one-on-one attention to each of the swimmers regularly.
- The instructors addressed each child’s specific swimming needs
- The lessons were skill-based and fun
- The girls learned “swim for life” skills which gave them confidence in the water and set them up to improve quickly
2. Positive, Engaged and Skilled Instructors
At World Waterpark Swim Club, the swimming lessons are taught by professionally certified swim instructors who are passionate and motivated to ensure each child succeeds. The instructors believe that swimming is more than a recreational activity, it is a life skill.
- The girls made an “instant connection” with their swim instructors – having a positive relationship with the teachers increased the girls’ confidence and willingness to try new skills in the water
- Every single instructor had a positive and encouraging demeanour which put my girls at ease in the water right from day one
3. Improved Swimming Skills
During swimming lessons, the girls reached targeted Water Smart, cognitive and muscle development and fitness goals. In our case, Claire learned how to breath properly with her face in the water and Ava learned how to do the front and back crawl and increased her endurance.
- The girls were provided with strategic and timely instruction each week which caused them to grow stronger in their swimming skills quickly
- The instructors checked in with parents each week and provided specific goals to work on
4. Fun, Safe and Relaxed Atmosphere
Since starting swimming lessons, our family looks forward to spending our Wednesday evenings at the World Waterpark. How many parents cringe at the thought of waiting, especially with a younger sibling in tow, for swimming lessons to be over each week? I can honestly say, we never felt this way during the girls swimming lessons.
- Enjoy waiting for lessons to finish on comfortable lounge chairs
- The 31 degree temps and palm trees will make you feel like you’ve escaped to a tropical oasis each week
- The kiddie pool is open before and after Swim Club
- The waterpark provides complimentary Coca-Cola Freestyle and water
